Home to Heaven is dedicated to helping your family and pet with a gentle end-of-life transition. We provide comprehensive services for every step of this difficult period. From the moment of diagnosis to your pet’s final moments, we provide caring and compassionate support. We can care for pets in our home-like clinic or our doctor’s will come to your home giving your furry family member the peace to pass in the familiar and loving environment of your home.
Pet Euthanasia at Home
For many pets, going to the vet is stressful and scary. Many of our 4-legged loved ones don’t like getting into a car, let alone being dragged into a building filled with noise, confusion, unusual smells, and other animals. Especially at the end of their life, it can be too much for them and you to bear.
Our in-home euthanasia service allows your pet to pass on in the familiar and loving environment of your home. Practicing medicine in the home is more convenient for the family and more calming and comfortable for the animal. This is especially true for delicate situations, such as home hospice care or euthanasia. We want your pet and their families to be able to face this time with dignity, comfort and privacy and we are dedicated to providing a calm and peaceful transition.
Home to Heaven assists all companion animals, including dogs, cats, exotics, horses, and companion livestock. We offer complete hospice services for both dogs and cats.
Every family is unique, and for some, home pet euthanasia is not the best solution. To meet the needs of all families, Dr. Kathleen Cooney of Home to Heaven created the nation’s first pet euthanasia center in Loveland, Colorado. This center provides your family with a pristine and calming place to say goodbye to your beloved pet.
Throughout this difficult time, Home to Heaven makes sure that you and your family get the support and guidance you need. And when the time comes, we help you with the options and logistics of aftercare.
We provide grief support and opportunities to share your feelings with others. We help you find the best ways of memorializing your beloved pet and we guide you through the options for a loving and respectful burial or dispersion.
Please call if your pet needs hospice care or if euthanasia is the next step in your journey with them.

What is the cancellation policy?
If you must cancel your appointment with us, we ask that you please give us at least 2 hours notice. For both consultation and euthanasia appointments, there will be a $50-100 fee for a cancellation made within 1 hour of the appointment (based on time and distance traveled). You must speak with a care coordinator to cancel. Voicemail cancellations may not be received in a timely manner.
Our doctors often travel up to 60 minutes or more for an appointment. If you cancel close to your appointment, the doctor may already be well on the way to your home. This fee covers the transportation costs accrued by the doctor.
A short-notice cancellation also limits our ability to help another family that may have also needed help during your appointment time. Please understand that this fee system is necessary for Home to Heaven to continue providing our excellent and reliable care.
We kindly reserve the right to charge the $50-100 fee to any credit card on hold from the original appointment or a bill may be sent for collection at a later date.
If the cancellation is due to the natural death of the pet during normal business hours, this fee will not be applied. What we offer in these situations is for the family to instead make a donation to our service in honor of their pet. For any donation $100 or over, a memorial plaque will be placed in our Euthanasia Center’s memorial garden. Anyone is welcome to visit this wonderful place of remembrance.
