ABBY HALE
6/3/98 – 1/28/09
ABBY was our Australian Shepherd that unconditionally loved us, her herding job, and life itself. She would race around the farm, feet barely touching the ground, chasing rabbits. She herded our chickens, goose, horses, dogs, family and friends. She loved riding in the four wheeler trailer to the ditch to go swimming with Lucy and Sheba, and she loved riding in the pickup truck with her dad, barking incessantly. She would lay on her back for anyone who would pet her tummy. When she was excited, she would bend in half to look you in the eyes as you petted her, thus her nickname “twisted sister”. Her eyes saw through to your soul. She was always happy to see her humans, and she curled up the ends of her mouth in a big, wide smile. She was mom’s constant companion, slept right by her side of the bed, and was always there for her. And she shared way too many pizzas with her mom. She never had to be trained a day in her life, whether it was “doing her business” away from everything and “covering it up” or walking through Home Depot with dad without a leash. She was a guide dog to old Whitey, who wandered onto the farm several years ago and is now lost without her, as well as her mom and dad. There will never be another more loyal, smart, gentle, happy dog than Abby. EVER! We can’t wait to see you in heaven.
