Angelina

November 19, 2016 by

When Angelina came to us, Renee was just 5 years old. It was really Angelina’s sister, Augustine, we had planned to adopt. Our friends, the Taylors, told us the “runt” of the litter, a little black pug, was still unclaimed. We thought Augustine might like a companion, and my 2 kitties from childhood had been runts, also – with great result. Sure enough, Angelina was always sweet, affectionate, and funny.

Sadly, Augustine had a seizure before she made it to her first birthday. Angelina proved to be a wonderful adult doggie, even though she mourned her sister for a time. Renee waited patiently for Angelina to have puppies, which happened when Angelina was 3 years old. That is how Allegro joined our family. Renee was in heaven when our home was filled with pug puppies!

Since then, Angelina has been our constant companion. She loved to sit on our laps, especially when Uncle Keith was eating. He was the one who fed her the most! Strangely, she loved to eat cuties (small oranges), when Joel shared them with her. She was always beside anyone who was not feeling well, to keep company and cuddle. Our sweet, black doggie – we miss you so much!

Your beloved pet is sick

The diagnosis and subsequent prognosis aren't good. Now is the time to contemplate advanced animal hospice care or putting your pet to sleep (euthanasia). But where do you turn for help? What are the next steps? How do you make this final period of your companion’s life as peaceful as possible? Read more...
