Our beloved Antonio came to us in the Spring of 2007 at the age of 1 ½ years old. He was found on the streets of Mexico and was brought to the non-kill adoption center of Every Creature Counts. We fell in love with him immediately and after a visit with him, it was obvious he felt the same way. He was such a cuddle bug that he didn’t allow anyone that visited to not feel the same way we did. His favorite activities were playing ball, although he was only good as chasing, not releasing; taking the squeaker out of his toys and going for walks. If we hadn’t walked by late afternoon, he’d give us the “aren’t you forgetting something?” eye. He gave us so much joy and love that he will be forever in our hearts and the decision we had to make for him, one of our hardest ever.
After going through the last 2 months of blood transfusions, hospital stays, numerous follow-up lab tests and more, it became evident he was losing the fight and we called our vet for a recommendation for someone to come to our home to make his final moments as stress free as possible and allow his family to be with him. They recommended Home to Heaven and we are so very grateful to them and Dr. Chelsea, for this wonderful service they provide. Antonio had a gentle passing surrounded by his loving family and will be forever in our hearts and missed beyond imagining.
