Bisley

November 19, 2016 by

Our Boy Bisley

Bisley was a black and white English Springer Spaniel born in Pennsylvania and at 3 months of age traveled across the country to Colorado.  He was a 53 pound lovable “lap dog”.  He loved belly scratches; in fact, his favorite position was on his back.  Bisley was a faithful walking and running buddy.  He loved to be outdoors and sniff the surroundings.  Bisley had many attempts at catching bunnies, but never quite reached their speed.

Bisley’s favorite game was stealing slippers followed by “catch me if you can”.  He enjoyed tug-war and got so excited when one of us would come in the door, his entire back end would shake.  He loved taking a gift of a toy, a bone or a slipper to our son, Mark, each and every time he came in the front door.

We are lost without Bisley; he was the highlight of our household, a special part of our lives. He was in every room, and we still expect him to be there.  We cherished our quiet times with Bisley just hanging out on the front porch or in the backyard or a visit to Starbuck’s.

Bisley’s last hours were exceedingly sad and heart breaking, but we knew he was ready to say “good-bye”.  In our eyes, he was a true champion and gave us enormous joy and unconditional love for 9 ½ years.  He chose to spend his last hours in the backyard.  It was a calm, peaceful, cool morning.
