Buzz suffered from renal failure but lived 5 years after his diagnosis. I don’t know of another cat who would put up with subcutaneous injections every day. Buzz loved to chew the cords on window blinds, that was his fetish. I learned early on to keep them out of his way!
He was of Siamese descent and named after my uncle, George aka Buzz. His “grandfather” visited the farm near El Jebel in the Roaring Fork Valley and added his genes to the gray and tortoise shell DSH gene pool. Buzz was one of the few who inherited his blue eyes and seal-point coloring. He was born as a feral kitten. My brother found him and told me I just had to adopt him. It was a good decision.
He was sweet, gentle and shy but brave enough to swat my Border Collies if they bothered him. He was my friend and companion for 18 years. I will miss his “call of the wild” in the middle of the night and his happy purr. Rest in peace, Buzz. You were a very good kitty.
