Chiquita, baby, you were the light of our life. You greeted each new day with such excitement, and with a wagging tail. You took care of your daddy and your mommy, protecting us and protecting your favorite toy, Kitty Cat. You put her in front of the vents when it was cold, giving Kitty Cat warmth. You weed so loving and so thoughtful. You spent three months of the third year of your life protecting Mommy while she was recovering from surgery just sitting and watching over her while she was in bed when you should have been spending that time running around and playing. Then you spent the next 13+ years of your life protecting us and our home. When Daddy had his knee surgery this summer, you spent your days laying in bed with him, protecting him from whatever you thought might affect him. You always loved us and tried to protect us, up until the very end, when you had trouble walking and when you were blind and deaf. You were so courageous. We love you and miss you so very much.
