It’s been almost seven months and only just now can I bring myself to write this. Four months after I lost my girl Echo, Cody rescued me on January 27, 2011. She was the smartest, most intuitive Blue Heeler. She invented a game called “stair ball” and I loved to see her Cattle Dog smile as she waited for me to throw it back to her. Cody had amazing athletic abilities, well into her senior years. She once cleared a row of people seated in lawn chairs, from a standing position, to get to her tennis ball on the soccer field. She knew all of my moods; was my confidant and my sunshine, every day. A master of timing, she waited until backs were turned before stealing the leftover turkey from Thanksgiving, and a crab leg no one ate for Christmas dinner. She was truly a character and I was her one and only, and I adored her. I lost Cody to a brain stem tumor on January 31, 2017. You have my heart, Cody…Codster…CocoNut…Peaches. We’ll play ball again, someday, my best girl.
Love, Angie Lawrence
