Cooper was truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog. He moved with me nine times across four states as I advanced my career, each time being up for a new adventure. He literally saved my life at least three times in my early 20s, just like the true “Lassie Dog” he was. Without him, I would not be here today. Cooper had a major impact on many people’s lives and was an excellent therapy dog through Pet Pals in Madison, WI, and Cornell Companions in Ithaca, NY. Cooper’s favorite activities included hiking, swimming (or rather, walking in the water), canoeing, tent camping, going for walks, visiting “Indiana”, playing with Holly, and laying outdoors in the sunshine. He loved the coldest Wisconsin winter mornings, summited many mountains in the Adirondacks and Colorado, and preferred hiking up the trail over going down (when he knew we were headed back to the car). He is, and always will be, deeply missed.
