Dutch came into my life out of necessity….I recused her from an abusive home at the age of one. She was with me for the next 14 years (nearly). She saw me through medical school, military life, residency and fellowship–when she rarely saw me, but relished the time we had. We moved all over the country–alway with her right by my side. She helped me through the deaths of my dad and grandmas, often licking the tears from my cheeks. Through all of it, she was right there. I could not have asked for a better friend and companion. Thank you, Dutch, for the unconditional love, the snuggles on cold nights, for always listening and for just being there. You are and will be missed terribly.
