Gus

November 19, 2016 by

Gus was born in Montana in the fall of 1994 and adopted from the Hamilton Humane Society on February 12, 1995.  I was 21 years old and he passed when he was 21 so he was my companion for half of my life.  He has traveled all over the country with me.  He has lived in Montana,  New Jersey,  North Carolina and Colorado.  He has traveled and camped in 22 states before settling (and retiring from moving around the country) in 2001 when we moved to Colorado.  He recently gained a human brother which was the first time that he learned to somewhat appreciate the child form of the human species.  He feared children his whole life but then realized once we practiced “gentle” that the kid wasn’t so bad.  Little Elias loved his kittycat so much! He is survived by Patches the goldfish,  the last remaining pet of the household.  Gusgus had a great life and was pampered and loved right up until the last moment and beyond.  He will be greatly missed by his mama and baby Elias.  🙁

He passed away exactly ten years to the date of my grandfather’s passing.  My grandfather really loved the time he spent with Gus at our family cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan,  a very special place for our family.
