We adopted our cat Jammer and his brother Rocky 18 years ago. They were feral kitties we adopted from the Humane Society. Rocky passed in 2005, and Jammer left us on August 1 2017. What an adventure it was to share their lives. While Rocky was alive, he and Jammer were very bonded and we were more like their household staff (a very willing staff, I’ll admit). But when Rocky passed, Jammer became a true lap cat. He was our constant friend and source of joy, and he had us well-trained in how he liked to be petted, where he wanted to sleep (several chairs were claimed as his sole property), and when he wanted to be fed. Our reward for complying with his wishes was his sweet presence and unconditional love. We miss him more than words can say.
