Khaki was the love of our lives for 15 years, 4 months and 2 days we were blessed with her joyous smile and enthusiasm. We went on many outings, two walks and swimming everyday, horseback rides, llama treks and heaven only knows how many chipmunks were chased into bushes and under logs during that time.
She was the biggest of tomboys and always kept everyone else in line. As long as all the others acknowldged that the Queen is here all was peaceful.
In the past year she began to slow down. We knew we wouldn’t have her in her physical body forever….and then she began to decline rapidly over the course of a few days. She let us know it was time although she never lost her smile. When we knew she wouldn’t last through the night we called Home to Heaven.
We stayed home with her all day, sharing stories about her life, laughing, crying and drinking in the last precious moments of being able to touch her and stroke her hair. We did a lot of ceremony and played Native American flute music for her. It was all so peaceful.
She left us with the same dignity and beauty with which she lived. She is gone now but will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you Home to Heaven for being a beautiful part of this life and bringing such honor and respect to this death. It is all a part of living…..
In Loving Memoy of Khaki
Lauren Munger, Alison Fisher and Biloxi who will always her brother in spirit. We all miss her.
