Lucius was a big Great Dane with an even bigger heart, he loved his human family! He would greet me or guests at the door with his blanket and drool. Although Lucius’ body failed him, he had a zest for life that wouldn’t quit. Lucius loved to play hide-n-seek & run thru the sprinkler with my granddaughter. He also loved my potted Daisies. He would stuff his head in like he was smelling them, but usually break/damage them. Lol! I nicknamed him “Ferdinand” after the cartoon bull that had a soft spot for flowers. Lucius would wait until you were seated or kneaded to show affection, which he would then forcefully rub his head all of your head, neck & chest, like a cat on a scratching post. If you weren’t prepared he would knock you down, then put all his 140 lbs on you. Lucius was the best pet ever! I’m grateful for the short 9.5 yrs and especially grateful for the last 2 yrs where I’ve been working from home—we became inseparable! Lucius, RIP buddy—I miss & love u!
