Mistey Van Rooy
Sept 10th 2001 – Jan 14th 2011
My search for a dog was a little long but VERY worth it. I went to go get Mistey and since it was such a long drive I got her for 100 dollars less, Knowing what I know now I would have paid anything for her. I was there to look at 4 dogs, and when the dogs came out to me 3 ran to go play in the yard and one came to me and never left my side, and that was a the start of a 9 yr frindship that I was blessed to have with my new buddy Mistey. My wife and I were married in 2005, and we quickly became a family with her dog, Karma. The 2 were inseperable! As we added Sable to our fur family – Mistey trained and had the new puppy whipped into shape fast. She was a wonderful guard dog and wouldn’t let anyone harm my wife or I. Being a military family, Mistey traveled all over the place. She loved going to work with Mommy, in an Air Traffic Control tower where she could run from window to window to watch the airplanes. But her favorite was picking her Daddy up from deployments. She knew exactly where to go! She would wear something patriotic and pull her Mom all the way to the ramp where she would watch her Daddy land and get off his plane. She never missed a drop off or pick up! Her last pick up was last November, when she was losing the feeling in her back legs – she was in therapy and even though it was hard and couldn’t make it all the way back to the car, wearing her “You’re not just my Daddy, you’re my Hero” t-shirt, she pulled her mommy all the way to the ramp to see her Daddy get off the plane.
We have so many wonderful memories of Mistey, she was a loyal, comforting, sympathetic, protective, and beautiful dog that we will never forget and can never be replaced. Today she sits on our mantel where she can forever watch over her family and home.
Love always,
Larry and Jennifer, Karma, and Sable Van Rooysabre.jpg
