Morgan, our 14-year-old lab husky mix was laid to rest on March 23. She fought a hard battle with heart disease and arthritis. She was one of the best dogs we ever owned. Never really barked, obeyed and followed us like a lost puppy until the very end, even though she could barely walk. A silent prankster, Morgan would walk behind Sue when she planted rows of flowers, only to dig them up one by one as they were planted. As a puppy, she seemed to adore pulling on a roll of toilet paper to TP the living room and was tempted by the smell of a new couch she chewed twice when we failed to remember to gate off the room. At the beginning of March, she seemed to understand that it was her time. Her “brother” Sam seems lost without her, as she served as his mother or big sister, always caring for him. We are sure that another dog will appear soon, but it will never replace her. Special thanks to James Dye, vet extraordinaire, who helped us and Morgan through the process. I highly recommend him from “Home to Heaven” along with the staff at Precious Memories who were all kind at this time of grief – they all made this life change a lot easier for all of us. Sue and Bill Patterson.
