When God had made the earth and sky the flowers and the trees, He then made all the animals the fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He’d finished not one was quite the same. He said, “I’ll walk this world of mine and give each one a name.”
And so He traveled far and wide and everywhere He went, a little creature followed Him until it’s strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth and in the sky and sea, the little creature said,”Dear Lord, there’s not one left for me.”
Kindly the Father said to him “I’ve left you to the end I’ve turned my own name back to front and called you dog, My friend…
I rescued Neve from the Larimer Humane Society on Sept 19, 1998. I had gone looking for a black lab and when I saw her I knew that it was meant to be. She was my companion thru all my moves in college and had many different dog buddies during that time. Although she never had puppies Neve was Terra’s “mom” for the past 6 years. She was so patient and loving, it made me proud. There are so many little things about Neve I’m going to miss. The way she would sit on a stair, the way her paws would spread out when she was playing with a bone, the way she would bounce from one paw to the other on cold nights when she was excited to get back in the house, the way should would howl at sirens, the way her ears went straight back when we went on walks, the way she would do “Big Dog!”, the way she would lean against you when she wanted a pet.
On June 15th, 2011 we had to give you back to the creator and saying goodbye to you is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Our house doesn’t feel complete without you here. But I know that you are at peace now and no longer in pain. Neve you gave us so much joy, you are so loved and will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you for sharing your life with us. We love you.
