I got Minky in summer of 2003 as a rescue pup from Trinidad, Co. she was around 10 weeks old. I was a single mother of two teenage daughters at the time, and she quickly became our protector, friend, and goofy, sweet girl. She didn’t always trust men, but when I met my future husband, Dennis, she loved him right away. Minky loved to run with me and could go for miles. She also loved the mountains and swimming in the streams. Playing fetch and tug of war were also favorites. Minky was a rugged girl. She survived getting hit by a car and bit by a rattlesnake! I know how blessed we were to have 16 years with this wonderful companion but I am heartbroken and the absence of her spirit will be missed for a long time. I loved her so very much. I miss you and I will join you someday, girl, of this I am sure! Godspeed, my sweet girl
