Lucky was truly the most special dog and companion. When my daughter was young we had cats but she begged me for a dog so we went to Wee Rescue in Austin, Texas where we sat down in a room full of dogs to be adopted and other people. As soon as we sat down on the floor, Lucky came right over. He chose us. We fell in love instantly. He had been abandoned and was living with a foster family. His exact age was believed to be ~3-5 and he was 17 when he passed. Lucky was meant to be my daughter’s dog, but he and I fell in love with each other and had a special bond. I have loved all my many pets, but sometimes there is a special connection that is indescribable. Lucky was that special to me. There are no words to describe the empty place his passing has left. He was the most gentle, sweet soul.
