From the first time we brought Buddy home, we knew he would be more than just our buddy. But he was more than even we could have imagined. He was a loving, loyal, and integral part of our family for 12 and a half years. His days as a puppy were filled with chewing on plastic milk jugs, stealing socks from the laundry, and dragging the toilet paper all over the house. His favorite game was to grab something he knew he wasn’t supposed to, and then get chased around the house as we tried to get it from him. One of his more notable feats was chewing up sprinkler pipes and parts around the yard. We were convinced that he could eat anything. He loved the local dog park, but not because of all the other dogs. He was more interested in the attention he got from the other dog owners at the park than he was in the other dogs. Buddy held many titles in the Thompson household. He was the vacuum for stray food scraps that were dropped on the floor. He was a great helper in the fall when the leaves needed raking, in the winter when the snow needed shoveling, and in the summer when the grass needed mowing. He was the best basketball defender in the neighborhood. He was a model for many photo shoots. He was a guard dog, barking at any squirrel that ran by outside and feeling proud once he had scared them off. He was the greeter when any guests came into the house, giving them a more excited, “Welcome to my home!” than many of them expected. But first and foremost, Buddy was a friend and companion that our family looked forward to seeing every single day. He was the first one at the door whenever anyone came home and would be the last one to say goodbye whenever we left the house. His heart was seemingly bigger than he was, and his unconditional love is something that will be sorely missed. We love you Buddy. Thank you for everything. Love, Bryan, Sara, Tyler, and Casey Thompson
