This picture was taken at the conclusion of the 2016 Animal House ‘Run Fur Fun 5K”. We did come in last, as we took it more as a 5K saunter. But that didn’t keep Parker (black lab) from cooling off in one of the many “drinking” pools provided. Sandy, of course had to give it a try even though she wasn’t ever much of a swimmer. Sandy lived 16+ years and had a wonderful life. I was very blessed to have had her since she was a few months old. She was always up for meeting anyone (canine and human) at the dog park or on one of our walks. While she did slow down in her later years, we still completed the 5K in Spring 2017 (last place of course)! Her only maybe bad habit, was to growl at anyone getting close to her coveted doggie treat. Even me, though I had just seconds before given it to her. But she would never bite anyone, and was wonderful and very patient with small children even as they would pull on her hair. She was very loved, is missed by both me and her long time partner Parker.
