You were already six years old when I saw the ad in the classifieds for a yellow lab whose elderly owner had passed away.  We had just lost our black lab, Shadow, and I knew you were exactly what we needed to fill that empty place in our hearts.  I thought if we were fortunate enough to have you for another 6 years, how lucky we would be.  Instead we were blessed with your love and sweetness for 8-1/2 more wonderful years.  You were my constant walking companion each day as we traveled through the neighborhood, always stopping to talk to the horses on our way and bring them a treat.  You kept me going through the tough times of life, when that nightly walk was the one bright spot in an otherwise stressful day.  Saying goodbye to you was so tough for all of us, but you will remain in our hearts forever, sweet Mandy.
