Abby came into our lives in 2004.  I saw her on the Golden Retiever Freedom Rescue website.  She came from a farm in Iowa and when she arrived she was very under wieght with a very thin fur coat and she was having seizures regularly.  She was almost 3 years old when I got her and she was so sweet and motivated to please.  I put her on seizure medication and fattened her up.  We also got a puppy from a no kill rescue and soon they became best friends.  I live out in the country so we would take 3 mile off leash walks were they swam in the canals and resevoirs, rolled in cow manuer, and chased rabbits.  Pretty much they were "living the dream".  Then like with most old dogs the arthritis set in and the walks got shorter and shorter.  Abby will be remembered fondly in our hearts.  She was the best family dog one could wish for.  You will be missed Abby.
