Our lifelong friend is gone from her home but not from our hearts. Penny came into our lives 16 years ago and took on the job of raising two little girls. She cuddled them, herded them, nested in their long hair and purred them to sleep every chance she got. She proudly watched them grow up into the adults she knew they could be. Penny was a fantastic greeter. No one got into the house without first being checked out and given her stamp of approval. She had a very definite political point of view and that was an open door policy. It was a crime to come upon a closed door! She loved having her house in order and wasn’t afraid to use her “voice” to get things done. That voice was surprisingly loud but came with the softest fur, kindest eyes and unmatched unconditional love. She was our housemate, our soul mate, our councilor and little doctor ready to console anyone that was hurting. Penny will be missed every time a door is opened or we sit down to an empty lap. Rest in peace old friend.
