Poe was the pet we got before having kids, you know, just to make sure we could keep something alive. And then we got to spend 15 1/2 wonderful years with her. Poe was loving to those she cared about, aloof with others. Almost catlike. She loved walks and attention, but was also happy in her own space. Always gentle and caring with kids. Saying goodbye to her was incredibly difficult. She will always be in my heart, and I’m incredibly grateful to have had her in my life for so many years.
