Princess came to live with us after my dad passed away from cancer. We drove from Loveland, Colorado to Seminole, Alabama to pick her up. She would kick her basketball down the driveway bring it back to us, while playing keep away from us. The 36 hour car ride back to Colorado was not good. Then things start to get interesting. Princess had never been in a car, on a leash, or off my dads 3 acres. She wouldn’t stop whining for at least 6 hours. She wouldn’t go potty on a leash for about 15 hours. Then we hit an ice storm in Kansas. The roads got so bad that we stopped in Salina, Kansas and got a motel. We stayed about 3-4 hours. When we woke up it was snowing pretty good. Princess had never seen snow before. Let me tell you that she fell in love with snow. Things got easier the next day while on our way back to Colorado. We were in a rental until we could close on our house. The thing is that we weren’t suppose to have a dog. Well we smuggled her in the house. The rest is history.
