His work being done, Punkin left us on May 11th at the age of 17 to join his friends across The Bridge. I had the honor of knowing him and bonding with him for the last 4 years of his life. However he was Michelle’s lifetime companion and always will be. She took him in when he showed up at her doorstep as a young gentleman and shared her home with him for several years as he provided comfort and companionship through some difficult times. He was an empath, nothing bothered him. He taught us all how to live and accept things as they are. When Michelle had to relocate and in a heart wrenching decision realized he could not join her, I gladly offered him our house and he and I bonded right away. He was with us when we had to say goodbye to our dogs Tinker, Reba and Gizmo all within a span of 3 years. As each of them were about to cross the Rainbow Bridge, Punkin would lie next to them and gently put his paw on their head. He was letting them know it was OK. Now he has joined his buddies. I miss all of them every day and look forward to seeing them all someday.
