Rango Barnett

June 20, 2025 by

Rango wasn’t just our dog—he was a once-in-a-lifetime soul wrapped in fur. We rescued him from the pound 9 years ago, but the truth is, he rescued us right back. He stole our hearts the day he came home… and shattered them when he passed.
Rango snored like a freight train, drank more water than a camel, and had zero chill when the backyard grill was fired up. He could out-nap a cat, outrun your emotional support, and outshine your cutest pup at Home Depot. He pretended not to care when people called him handsome, cute, or loveable because deep down, he knew he was basically a unicorn in disguise. And for some odd reason, would always bark and attack the lawn mower while I mowed the lawn.
And he loved a Starbucks Puppuccino. ☕
But more than all of that—Rango was family. He was always there. Every hard day. Every celebration. Every struggle and every quiet moment in between. He couldn’t stand being alone, and now, neither can we.
To all the dog lovers out there—you know this pain. The joy they bring is unmatched. The Universe’s gift to us during this life to show what unconditional love really is. And so is the grief when they go to Heaven. But I’d do it all over again, faster than Rango could take a treat from my hand.
We loved him every single day. And somehow, that still wasn’t enough time.
Rest easy, Rango. You were truly an amazing dog. We love you and we will miss you.
