Riley Roeder

October 6, 2021 by

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our furboy Riley (a.k.a. BooBear, Peanut, Pookie, Baby, and for the last 2 years, just about anything else; he didn’t care, he couldn’t hear you anyway). He was 17 years, 1 month and 26 days old. Riley developed kidney disease when he was just 4 years old. For the next 5 years, he suffered through sub-q fluids every single day without one complaint. In addition, he began a regimen of pills and various medicines that would last for the rest of his life. In spite of all this, he remained the sweetest boy. Riley was excellent as his big brothers’ alarm clock on school days and also made sure that no resident was lost in the house, dutifully noting their whereabouts should anyone need assistance. In addition, Riley’s “Find It!” skills were unmatched – no treat stayed hidden for long! We couldn’t have asked for a better boy and his passing leaves a tremendous hole in our hearts. Until we meet again little angel, run free.
