Rocky

November 19, 2016 by

Our dear Rocky came to us in an unexpected way. You might say he found us. His original owner could not seem to keep him in the yard, and one day he followed my son Jeff to a friend’s house. Though he was returned, he escaped again. At that point, the owner offered him to us, and he spent the next 15 years as a member of our family.

Rocky was a dog of amazing heart. One day, years ago, he and I were out walking in our neighborhood, when I saw a pit bull running towards us. My first thought was that I was about to die. Rocky stepped in front of me and took the charge. My next thought was that I was going to lose him. Yet, his spirit was so strong (and fur so thick) he drove the pit bull off with only a small nick on his leg. He will always be my hero, a dog of majesty and a true friend.

Though we will always miss him, we know Rocky is now without pain, running free and joyfully in Heaven.

“Your playful nature and boundless energy will never be forgotten or replaced. You always will be my real life White Fang.”
Ryan, Dorann, Ryan and Jeff

Rocky you were always a dog that brought joy to my life and everyone that met you. I have so many great memories from the time you found me to the time we first went in the snow together. No dog will ever replace you and I’m so happy we had all that time together. Love you Rocky
