Rocky

November 19, 2016 by

Rocky

AKA Rock and Roll Animal, Rockstar, Rachmaninov, Rockman, Barkman, Mr. Boosky Doo, Dooby Doo,…..

Rocky joined our family in February of 1997, a few months after our Dalmatian Ernie died.  He came to us via Dalmatian Rescue, and was about 4 months old.  His four-legged siblings were our kitty Colette and, joining us in 1998, Fiona, who also came from Dalmatian Rescue. Rocky was a beautiful, strong, very athletic dog in his younger days.  He could get a running start and jump above our 5 foot fence to see who was on the other side.  He could also pop boards out of the fence if he saw something or someone really interesting out there!  He was very protective of his family and was always very affectionate with us.  Colette and Fiona both preceded him in death, so he is our last furry friend to leave us.  He was the “only dog” for the last 7 months of his life, and even though he was experiencing increasing pain and couldn’t make those back legs work the way they once had, he never lost his enthusiasm for his food or going on a walk. We’re grateful to Dr. Coates for helping him to leave gently, at home, when his body finally failed him on February 25, 2010, at the age of 13 years and 5 months.  Goodbye Pups, we love and miss you very much.
