I feel very blessed to have had almost 16 wonderful years with Smokey. He came into our lives when we discovered that a six year old boy who wanted to play rough (as most young boys do) didn’t mix real well with a six year old, five pound Pomeranian (Bo). Smokey was always my son’s special “buddy” and they had many great adventures together. Smokey was there to herd the kids away from the gate when they were younger, to bark at them to remind them there was no running up or down the stairs at home, to see the kids off to school and finally away from home when they graduated high school. He was there through the darkest days following a divorce and through the wonderment of a new life and friend in Rose (our nine year old mini Chihuahua) who misses him and is still waiting and searching for him to come play or to lay in front of her bed of a night to keep her safe.
I could not have asked for a more loving, forgiving, trusting and loyal dog as Smokey was. I miss you greatly every day buddy but knowing that you are finally no longer in pain and are with Bo again gives me some comfort. Know that I would have given anything to still have you with us. If spirit along could have saved you, I know you would still be with us today. Rest in peace buddy. Love mom, Jessica and Jared
