Sophi …
You found me in your youth, frail and fragile. You came into my life by chance and by choice. Unexpectedly and maybe when I needed you the most. I said from the start, that you were my “little gift from heaven” and I still truly believe that to this day.
You are so perfect…eternally puppy-like, petit and innocent. The little things you did will always bring me pure and utter joy – rolling in the grass; your playful spurts with us at the park; your excitement on my arrival home; riding in the car with your ears blown back and nose primed to catch any passing smell. You still had the puppy face on the day I laid you to rest in the ground.
Always happy in the company of kind people and other canines. You brought smiles to the faces of so many countless strangers who greeted us on the trail, or those who pulled along side us in the car. Your cute little face, framed by huge shaggy ears; the connection you made with those big brown eyes spoke to people and brought instant joy to their faces. This was your small way of making the World a better place.
I did everything I could to give you the best life a dog could hope for. Although you never uttered a word, you spoke volumes with your eyes and presence. It was not a stretch for us to have meaningful conversations with you – to know you understood and were talking back to us without words. Your essence and character earned you a very special place in the heart of Boyfriend Bill – like no other for him, I’m sure. The house was never empty as long as you were here – at home with you is where I wanted to be. You are my lifelong Best Friend and Kindred Spirit. You will never leave me. You are part of my soul. See ya in a little while…
