Sophie was adopted from a Humane Society in Virginia in 2010, when she was 1.5 years old. There was something magical about her. Sophie had such a bright, gentle soul and trusting spirit, that everyone she met knew she was amazing within minutes of meeting her. Something about her just drew people in more than any other dog we ever met. She had a long list of sounds she didn’t like, and it will be a long time before we hear any of them without thinking of her: skateboards, basketballs, sneezes, staplers, packing tape, can openers, counting to 3, shuffling cards, and bagpipes. Sophie was terrified of bagpipes. And we won’t ever hear them again without thinking of our sweet girl. No love lost for squirrels and rabbits, but such a gentle soul to be around our children and our cats. She left no tennis ball unchased and no stick unfetched. She has left a huge hole in our family, but we know she is no longer in pain. Rest easy sweet girl. We will love and miss you forever.
