Stone made me believe in fate It was Sept. 4 2001 and I called into work to enjoy a beautiful Fall day. My boyfriend, at the time, suggested we go to the Dumb Friend’s League to “just kill some time.” As we walked down the hallway I saw a handsome black and white puppy who was transferred from a shelter in NM. We met him and fell in love immediately. Right away I knew he was a great dog. He potty trained quickly and never tried to run away. He did eat all my nice leather shoes but I suppose that is why God made him so adorable.
Looking back, I now realize the reason I met my ex-boyfriend and put up with all the grief was to have Stone in my life. It was fate.
Stone enjoyed many things in life, playing with his toys, eating food, going on car rides and fishing trips, and being hugged, but most of all, he enjoyed the moment.
Sadly, renal disease took him from me but the love we shared remains in my heart, forever. I will cherish the memories he gave me and I hold tight to the lessons he taught me. Every day is a gift and every moment of love is priceless.
Stone, you will be deeply missed. May you return to the wind and find peace. Someday we will meet again. Until then, good-bye my baby boy; my love. 7/01/01-4/24/10
