As we mentioned, Striker belonged to Judy’s mom. He was a stray kitten that showed up at her cabin door with his sister 20 years ago. Due to health reasons of her own, we took all of mom’s kitty’s in about 1999. Mom referred to Striker as “my Teddy Bear.” He was as soft as velvet and as gentle as a lamb. He never offered to bit anyone, even when he was in pain himself. He and Rascal were buddies. Rascal groomed Striker—licking his head and untangling knots in his neck and back. They sat together on the table pad in the morning sun, looking out the picture window toward the barn and fields. In his younger days, Striker would bat around “Stewart,” a stuffed squeaky mouse that we hung from the closet door. We’ve attached a picture of Striker and Rascal, sharing a nap together. Thank you once again for being there for us and Striker, in our time of need. Sincerely, Charles, Judy, and Rascal Rogers
