Tela was born on November 2nd, 1997 in a little cabin just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. There were 8 puppies all together – 4 boys and 4 girls. Mama Fagan was a 6 year old German Shepard, Malamute and Wolf mix. From the day she came home with me – Tela was full of life. She had a different type of wild intelligence and intuitiveness that you just don’t see in every dog. She was gentle, sweet, and very smart – yet instinctual, wild and protective at the same time. I didn’t train her – she trained me! I was blessed with a best friend – not just a “pet” – and I treated her as such. For the next 13 years we lived, loved, partied, hiked and played like each day was our last on this earth together. I am grateful for every moment. She made me a better person.
I said goodbye to Tela on February 26th, 2011. Here’s to Tela Warrior Princess from Beyond the Mountain! I love you Tela!

P.S. I would like to thank all of my dear friends, family, co-workers, the vets and techs at VRCC, and Dr. Cooney for their invaluable support during her last year of life.
