Tillie

November 19, 2016 by

Tillie Morehead was our beautiful girl.  She was born on April 6, 2004 in Swink, Colorado and was one of 13 puppies.  Her Mom was an English Mastiff and her Dad was a Great Pyrenees. Tillie looked like her Mom and had her Mom’s sweet disposition. She has a twin brother, Nate, who looks and acts exactly like her.

Tillie was a gentle giant. She was a large, strong, fearless girl who weighed in at her peak at 140 pounds.  Although she was very large, she was very gentle. She thought she was a lapdog and would love to cuddle with us, lean against us, and jump in bed to snuggle in the early mornings.

From the day we brought her home at 6 weeks old, she was wonderful and never caused any trouble.  She was very smart and loving.  She loved people, more than dogs, but she did love her sister Gracie very much.  Tillie was Gracie’s protector and whenever Gracie would bark, Tillie would run to Gracie’s rescue.

Tillie loved to hike in the mountains and to swim whenever she had the chance. She loved to ride in the truck and would stare out the window in amazement during every ride. Tillie was her Daddy’s buddy and she followed him wherever he would go.

We were very sad to learn this summer that at 6 years old, Tillie had Osteosarcoma in her hind leg. The tumor grew quickly and she never complained about her pain. She would limp on 3 legs to be near us, to run in the yard and to go for walks while she was still able to.

Tillie’s suffering ended on October 10, 2010, when we were blessed to have Dr. Cooney help us to send our sweet Tillie home to heaven.

We are looking forward to the day we are reunited with you again at the Rainbow Bridge. We will love you, remember you and miss you always.
