Mr. Tito Wilkins passed away March 19, 2015, on the last evening of winter , comfortably at home with his family and the very caring help of Dr. James Dye. He was a very popular resident of the neighborhood, who loved to greet other dogs and especially people, and always enjoyed a good petting.
We first met Tito when he was a six week old pup, and he moved in with our son and daughter-in-law up in the Rocky Mountains west of Denver. A few years later, after two children had arrived and they were juggling two full-time jobs, they asked if Tito could stay with us a while. His visit lasted over ten years! He became a permanent Fort Collins resident who enjoyed visiting his mountain people whenever he could, but had many friends along the front range. He loved hanging out in the yard on a sunny day, going for hikes in the foothills, and playing ’toss the monkey’ with his favorite squeaky toy, a monkey he picked out by himself at a local pet store. He was a smart and sometimes devious little guy. At the Animal Eye Clinic on one visit he found a stuffed eyeball toy in the waiting room toy box, and would not let go! The receptionist said he could keep it. He did, and added it to his toy collection. He was a great little spirit, and we miss him greatly.
