Ras came into my life over 10-yrs ago (she was 5-yrs old), when I started dating her guardian (Traci). I was living alone at the time, so Traci would drop off Ras on her way to work. Ras became my constant companion; sleeping on her bed in my home office, or taking walks a few times a day, or playing fetch in the field behind my house. Moving ahead 10-years, she has been our constant loving companion; never complaining even as her time with us was nearing its end. We’re especially grateful to Dr. Kelly Walker, who was amazing in the care and empathy she showed Ras and our family as she helped Ras move on to the afterlife. Ras will be forever missed. We can only hope that we’ll be reunited with Ras one day when our time has come and the circle of life is complete.
